"Saint Leo students are very motivated. They want feedback, and they want to do well. The faculty are also advisors to students, and we can offer sound guidance because we get to know each student so well. That creates a comfort level for students —and for me as well. The goal of the faculty is to be excellent, effective teachers. Especially in the Education program, we use an active type of teaching to prepare students for internships and their teaching careers. You can't lecture about certain strategies and activities — you have to model them for students then let them practice in groups. I love Saint Leo. It's the most friendly place I've ever worked. When I first came here I was startled because
I had never been to a college like this before. The whole environment has that small-town closeness, that wonderful feeling of community."
