"As a student being able to work with administrators on a day-to-day basis prepared me to interact with people older and more experienced than me with confidence," says Neil.

While he was still a student at Saint Leo, Neil had the chance to work with high ranking administrators which gave him the confidence to pursue career opportunities that he may have otherwise not have. After Career Services guided him to an outside career fair, he secured a position in inside sales with Gerdau-Ameristeel.

During his time at Gerdau-Ameristeel, Neil has been promoted twice and currently oversees three different mills’ production, scheduling, inventory control, pricing, coaching and training.

"Your career at Saint Leo is not for four years. Your career at Saint Leo is for the rest of your life,” says Neil. “It’s a family, whether in the classroom, playing field or whatever, it’s with you for the rest of your life.”
