“The school’s core values drew me to believe that this was a place I could truly learn to become a better version of myself, and so far it definitely has not let me down,” says Lindsay Renner a sophomore English major.
When she began her life at Saint Leo Lindsay dreamed of a career in politics but after a recent trip to Honduras she realized that it was her calling was education. “I now feel that I am meant to be a teacher,” says Lindsay “and I am well on my way to doing so.”
Lindsay feels that she could not have picked a better school to prepare herself for a future in teaching. She says that all of her professors are genuinely eager to help her as well as her
peers down the path to success. She also said that she has gained leadership skills that will help her in the future through her extracurricular activities such as the SERVE program, (Students Engaged in Rewarding Volunteer Experiences).
Lindsay plans to join the Peace Corps for two years after graduating and then continuing on to be a high school English teacher.
“I believe that the most important thing I have gained here is my sense of confidence, enhanced by the knowledge that I have finally found my purpose on life,” says Lindsay “and it is to serve others to the best of my ability.”
